Name: Hayley Shearer
How long have you been running with PACE? How long have you been a leader with PACE? Running with pace since 2011. I have been a leader since the fall of 2017. I have been a part of this group for nearly a decade :) Wow. It has to be one of the most literal examples of how time flies when I'm having fun.
What are some of your hobbies outside of running? Mediocre Part-time Step-Mom, Worlds Best Auntie, Various outdoor pursuits, Gym, Dreaming up hilarious/terrible IG stories, Facetiming, This year I have a 25 book target so --> Reading (any recommendations for books that *must* be read?) Mostly I work and lovingly putter on my always-requiring-improvements house.
What has been your favourite trail or place to run in the whole wide world? lol. one? I pick Knox because then I get to run in my favorite place in the whole world all the time.
What is your go-to fuel on long runs? Lara bars, dried and fresh fruit. And gels because they are such serious little power packs for me.
Funny running, racing or training moment: On one very unreasonably cold snowy winter training day, I brought a popsicle for training fuel. The temps were so low the popsicle remained frozen for over 45 minutes in my run pack. Turns out to be a perfect training fuel; it's both sweet and hydrating. I wish I could bring popsicles on warm weather runs!
