Name: Hannah MacLennan
How long have you been running with PACE? How long have you been a leader with PACE? I've been running with PACE since 2015, and started my role as the Community Engagement Coordinator in 2019.
What are some of your hobbies outside of running? Spending time with family and friends, baking, reading, writing, gardening, and biking.
Describe PACE or what it means to you in 1-2 sentences PACE is a community and family where we support and celebrate each other. A place where we come together to laugh, dig deep, feel safe and supported, while surrounded by the most amazing human beings.
Where is your favorite trail or place to run in the whole wide world? Hermit Basin in Revelstoke, and The Alps.
What is your go-to fuel on long runs? Gels, dates & nuts, and rice bars.
Funny running, racing or training moment: One cold winter clinic night my snot rockets just weren't working out great for me. My nose gets SO runny when I run - it all just comes flowing out. I finished my lap and came to grab my next workout card from Coach R and as I shone my headlamp down my jacket had captured one of those gross snot rockets. There's photo proof.
Number one tip for beginners: Believe in yourself. Have the confidence to know that you can do hard things, and the entire PACE team has your back. Don't forget to enjoy and celebrate every step of your journey, the good and the hard.
Is there anything else you'd like the PACE Community to know about you? Beautiful things take time. If moving slowly is all you can do, that is still a sign of resilience rising within you.
