Kelowna Cycle continues to step up in huge ways to help support PACE Sports Fitness, our athletes, our events and our community!
They have offered to sponsor our volunteer BBQ and they will provide hamburgers for all our hard working trail peeps this Saturday. And anyone who has enjoyed a KC burger before knows how awesome they are!
Thanks Kelowna Cycle for your continued support and involvement within our community and for PACE!
Shout out to Sylvia & Owen who took to the trails in Kamloops & participated in the Dirty Feet Trail Running Race on the weekend!
Conditions were snowy and slick but nothing these two weren't up for or couldn't handle.
Congrat's on starting the season off with some pep!
Brewed right here in Kelowna, Tree Brewery Co., is our newest sponsor! Help me welcome them and give them a good ol' fashioned PACE welcome! I mean, who doesn't like to trail run and then wash down a tasty local brewski? Uh huh... that's what I thought!
Our Mountain Running Camps, Clinic events and Autumn Rush Trail Race can look forward to flavors such as Tasty Beaver, Beach Blonde and Dukes Cider. The cider is made with 100% local apples even happens to be gluten free!
Sure, we LOVE Tree Brewery's beer but we also love how important community is to them. Their values align with that of PACE, which makes it an even sweeter partnership. Check out all the great work Tree does in our community here.
You can visit Tree Brewery on 1083 Richter Avenue.
Thank you Tree Brewery for your support!
RENE: So much fun. Spring has sprung and so have the tics! Ewww! I had the pleasure of celebrating my bday on a PACE day which made my birthday extra special. Of course, they dressed the coach up and made her run with a pink feather boa ;)
I lead the 50k B group for an adventurous 3.5hrs, 19km & 1,000m. We were in Knox, Glenmore and Clifton areas. We told funny stories and had a blast. I headed back out for another 1hr 15min, extra 11km and 600m more. Thanks to the PACE family for the fun celebration run.
KAREN: 15km B group 1:05 and 7km
CHRIS: 15k A group update from PACE leader Chris. I hear he took you on some bushwhacking adventures today. Impressive stats! 300m, 6.8k in 60min. Nice work.
It was an absolute beautiful morning for a run! Daylight savings bought us more daylight but also warmth. Some icy sections but mostly mud and fun!
Chris took out the 50k "A" group and reported hitting 22km, 775m in just over 3hrs. Hard going conditions too - way to go!!
Rene lead the 25k "A" group for the first 90min and this group covered approx. 10.5km and 370m.
She then took out a second "50k" group and they covered another 9.5k and 275m in just under 90min.
Jody & Nathan lead the 15k "B" group this morning and they did a smashing job for closer to 60min as they encountered more ice than expected so ended up walking more than running.
Karen lead the 25km 'B' group and they tackled some sweet single track though the deep snow and earned earned the FUN decent. All smiles and shiney eyes in the sun for 1:33hrs and 9.3 km. Thanks everyone awesome to be back on the trails in our beautiful hometown!
Note from Stephanie: Great morning running with the 50k B group. Such a fun group. 3 hours 17k, lots of snow and lots of fun. Thanks everyone!
There are only three spots left! Join us for 4 days and 4 nights of beautiful mountain running through the Rockies.
Enjoy epic days covering 25-35k per day. Meet new friends. Eat amazing food. Drink wine. Cool off in the creek. Toast a fantastic mountain day over beer. Practice running technique. Do yoga. Watch movies. #ItsGonnaBeAwesome
Congratulations to Ian Tanner & Jamie Arnett for their fantastic finishes at Dirty Duo today!
Tanner took 2nd place in the 15k distance in a zooming fast time of 1:18hr and Jamie placed 5th female in a zippy time of 1:29.
Awesome start to the season for these two and we can't wait to hear all about their experience when they're home. Hopefully they're making plans to celebrate over all-u-can-eat sushi and a tasty pint or two or three...
Lots happening on the PACE scene these days... you can tell spring is in the air and people are ready to rock it this season.
We held the first annual free 4hr endure to wind up a fabulous January clinic last Sunday and then rolled in HOT with two new clinic launches this week.
The spring clinic is Full-Full. With over 50 athletes training with PACE over the next 12 weeks - they will keep their coach on my toes ;) A fantastic group with high energy and determination in their eyes. We are going to work our butts off but have a blast this spring! See ya'll this Sunday for the long haul.
A new clinic started last night on the PACE scene too. Over 15 newbies mustered up the courage to participate in the learn to run 5k trail clinic. I just have to say how awesome this group of women are and how much I enjoyed the first session. It reminded me of where it all started with PACE and how much I enjoy coaching new runners. Really excited to help grow fitness, confidence and have fun with this group this spring too.
It's the sweet life! PACE continues to inspire me and I am so grateful for this lifestyle and opportunity to work with such amazing people in an environment I love.
Okay, gotta go! Coffee was on since 4am and I have a full work day ahead of me, planning, programming, inspiring, teaching and maybe napping ;)
This smashing couple are off to the North Shore this weekend to take to the trails in the Dirty Duo Race. This race has been around for some time and is a great grass routes event for anyone looking for an early season race to shake off the cob webs and just have some fun on some of the nicest trails in BC.
The race offers a lot of variety and is actually a mountain bike and trail running event. These two PACE athletes and team leaders are taking on the 25k & 15k trail distances.
Have fun running on dirt this weekend you two. Yea!!! No more snow :) :) PACERs... help me wish these two fantastic peeps good luck...
Help me send good luck wishes to PACE athlete Larissa Hunka as she takes to the Antarctica Marathon this weekend. If you haven't read Larissa's athlete profile yet, it's worth sitting down over coffee this morning. This girl has a goal to run a marathon in every continent before she turns 30. She is pretty rootin-tootin inspiring...

Wishing you a steady & speedy marathon Larissa filled with long lasting memories. Looking forward to hearing all your stories when you return home.
NEW for 2014, PACE Trail Running Clinic Series has a fun way for athletes to stay more accountable and consistent with their training.
It's called the accountability program. Athletes earn badges for showing up or doing the replacement workout if they can't make it.
For January, athletes had a workout called "the two's". It helped improve their stamina and they could do it on a treadmill, road or trail so no excuses!
I am happy to announce the winner of the January Accountability program is Natasha Wood. Natasha wins a $50.00 gift certificate off entry into the spring clinic. Although, everyone who participated is a winner as it promoted more consistency and with more consistency - come greater fitness. Congrat's to all!
We have a full crew of 50 excited trail runners to hit the trails, increase their speed, build endurance and have a fun season of training.
With snowy conditions still this time of year - it makes it a bit harder to dream of dry trails, sunny skies and tail-gate parties after our runs, but I feel confident that we're on the tail end of it. Besides, we can all hunker through a little more snow this season, can't we!? Uh, huh...

Thank you for all the interest and support with the spring trail running clinics starting next week with PACE Sports Fitness.
