P.A.C.E. was first founded in 2005 by Kelowna local, Rene Unser. Rene was the first to start offering clinics and coaching in the sport of trail running in the Okanagan and hasn't looked back.
P.A.C.E. offers 4 trail running clinics per year. Each clinic is 12 weeks in duration and training happens 2x's per week (except Summer where we train on Wednesday nights only)
Wednesday is speed, strength, stamina focused, where athletes get to participate in time trials, hill climbs, fartleks, intervals, and more. Weekends are the heart of the training and where athletes build and test their endurance with the long run.
P.A.C.E. has a team of 13 experienced athletes who love to trail run, have been coached by Rene for a minimum of one year, believe in the P.A.C.E. philosophies and are totally rad people. They know the trails, love to explore and enjoy helping others reach their goals. The team is diversified and some certified in alpine safety, personal trainers, coaches and they all recreate in a variety of outdoor pursuits!
At P.A.C.E. we know it can be intimidating to join a new club or group. Fear not! We have created an environment where welcoming new people to the wonderful world of trail running is a high priority. Over the years, we have witnessed many long lasting friendships met on the P.A.C.E. scene. P.A.C.E. peeps are just really, really down to earth nice people. Now don't get me wrong. We all like to work hard and get into our groove, however everyone works at their own 'pace' and the clinic environments are very supportive and encouraging despite your fitness level or experience with trail running.
