Name: Nicole Todosichuk
How long have you been running with PACE? How long have you been a leader with PACE? I’ve been running with PACE since 2013 and I just started leading in 2020. Soon after I first moved to Kelowna I went to a spin class and Rene was the instructor. She had the most infectious energy and laugh and I just knew that I had to get to know her. I found PACE and was hooked.
What are some of your hobbies outside of running? Mountain and gravel biking, rock climbing, hiking with my dog, motorcycling, cooking, painting.
Describe PACE or what it means to you in 1-2 sentences PACE is community and family. There are no other people I would get up at the crack of dawn on the weekend for!
What has been your favourite trail or place to run in the whole wide world? Close to home it’s a toss up between Rossland and Revelstoke. Down south I really love hitting the trails in Colorado.
What is your go-to fuel on long runs? Powered by perogies.
Funny running, racing or training moment: The time I stepped off the trail to pee and ended up with a million baby spiders in my shorts.
Number one tip for beginners: When I first made the jump from road running to trail, I was focussed on numbers because that’s what we did on the road. It was all about pace, splits, distance, etc. On the trail I had learn to largely let all that go because running hilly and technical terrain is very different than running flat road. So I suppose my tip would be to relax and enjoy the journey and don’t worry about the numbers. It’s okay to walk the ups and to be sketched out by the downs in the beginning. Be patient with yourself. It will all come together.
Is there anything else you'd like the PACE Community to know about you?
Halloween is my favourite holiday.
