Upcoming PACE Events

You’re invited to run SCARED in this 8 week trail running clinic… leading participants to the HALLOW EVE’S TRAIL MARATHON!

This trail running clinic is a great way to explore Kelowna’s amazing trail network and will prepare participants for their choice of either the 10k or 21k trail event on Vancouver’s North Shore on October 25, 2009.

Note: this clinic is geared for both the newcomer and seasoned trail running veterans (see prerequisites) and participating in the marathon is optional.
This skill based clinic will cover such topics as:
  • Proper training techniques that will enhance your athletic conditioning
  • Cross-training
  • Strength training, core training and plyometrics
  • Rest and recovery to stay healthy and injury free
  • Confidence in navigation
  • trail etiquette and safety
  • One on one coaching each week including e-mail follow-ups throughout the progression of the program.
Other topics include gear selection, hydration, trail food, day-to-day nutrition, goal setting, developing ankle strength, race preparation and strategy.

Date & Time: August 27th to October 25th Thursdays @ 6:00 pm & Saturdays 7:00am.

Thursday workouts include hill climbs, time trials, strength, plyometrics, speed and drill work.
Saturdays are long runs.

Location: At a variety of local trails.

Rene Unser
Leaders: Andrew Corcoran, Shannon Willford & Mel Bos

Prerequisite for 21km training: ability to run 10km or 1hr
Prerequisite for 10km training: ability to run 5km or 30min

Cost: $120 (8 weeks)
